He is the founder of Russo Marsh + Associates, Inc. (RMA) and has spent over 50 years in the field of political consulting, advertising and public affairs, being in the forefront of some of the most prominent campaigns at every level.  Mr. Russo has also been an advisor to several Republican presidential campaigns since 1968.

 

Mr. Russo began his political career as a special assistant to Governor Ronald Reagan following his work in the gubernatorial campaign.  After successfully managing Governor George Deukmejian's campaign, Mr. Russo took a two-year leave of absence to become Deputy Chief of Staff. 

 

He co-founded the grassroots Tea Party Express, which has conducted over 500 tea party rallies across America. Mr. Russo has also managed international campaigns, including the branding of Iraqi Kurdistan as “The Other Iraq” and the campaign for Ukrainian independence from the Soviet Union.

 

He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where his activism in the Free Speech Movement led to meeting and employment with Ronald Reagan; holds a J.D. from McGeorge School of Law; and serves on numerous public policy boards.
